Component Evaluation: Community Grant Proposal
Time: 120 minutes; flexible
Mode: In class; Online
Community art collaborations are supported by a variety of institutions that help fund different projects. This funding is a crucial part of ensuring the larger success of a project. Funding allows organizers to be paid, to seek out needed materials, and the required space.
For this activity, students will prepare an abridged proposal for the Toronto Arts Council. To begin, have students look at the 2022 program guidelines available here. Then have students prepare the project description, which requires a summary of the project, the artistic vision, community objectives, and workplan. Their proposal should incorporate an understanding of the relationship between art, healing, community, and intersectionality.
